Our Origin Story

1914

The California Fruit Building is constructed, and designed by Charles Kaiser. Now the tallest building west of the Mississippi River, it houses the California Fruit Exchange, a co-op for selling fruit from growers to consumers, a barber shop, and 70 offices.

Sunny Dale, a local farmer, acquires the building.

2021

The building is renovated and reopened as The Exchange Sacramento, Curio Collection by Hilton™ on September 29th, retaining its historic Beaux-Arts Renaissance Revival style and original features like terrazzo floors, marble staircase, hand-carved ceilings, and the original mailbox.

Willow, the hotel’s restaurant, opens in September, offering Southern Italian and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
